The Vitamix S30 Personal Blender

The way people talk about their Vitamix today is similar to the way people used to talk about muscle cars in the 1960s—powerful, sleek, and capable of going from zero to 240mph in less than 30 seconds. Seriously, the Vitamix blades can get up to that crazy speed, which is part of the reason why you can whip up a steaming vegetable soup from cold, raw ingredients faster than you can pull together a pre-dinner snack.

Calling the Vitamix a blender almost seems unfair. It pulverizes any food (and maybe non-food, though we don’t recommend testing that theory) it comes into contact with to make smoothies, juices, salad dressings, soups, nut butters, and so much more. (Ever tasted Vitamix guacamole? It’s life changing.) This model, the S30, was just introduced in April 2014 and is the company’s first personal blender. It comes with the traditional 40-ounce container, a 20-ounce travel cup, and gives users the same variable speed control and pulse options available on the pricier models. But like all Vitamix products (and muscle cars) it’s built to last—and in the unlikely event that anything does break, it comes with a seven-year warranty.
