BOMBAS Socks

Socks are usually an afterthought, meaning we don’t think about them until after we’ve spent the last quarter-mile of a run contemplating how one small blister could possibly cause so much pain. But BOMBAS is on a mission to change that and get socks the attention they deserve. For us, all it took was walking (and running) a mile in their socks to be convinced.

After slipping on a pair of their powder blue ankle socks, we immediately felt the difference. For starters, the fit is snug but not too tight, and they’re thin (no more sweaty feet!) but hold up to wear and tear. But the real test came when we took these bad boys out for a jog and came back with no sign of budding blisters (thanks to the smartly designed blister tab that rests against your Achilles) and no soreness (honeycomb stitching across the arch helps distribute pressure).

The only thing better than the sock’s design is the company’s mission: The founders originally came up with the idea for BOMBAS after learning that socks are the most requested item of clothing at homeless shelters. Taking a page from TOMS and Warby Parker’s book, for every pair purchased, BOMBAS donates one pair of socks to those in need. And through the end of September, the company is donating two pairs of socks for every kids pair purchased.
