Ingredients (5)

  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 Tablespoons cocoa
  • 3 Tablespoons buttermilk
  • 8 oz. by weight, powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

This frosting goes with Buttermilk Chocolate Cake. It is a stiffer frosting. To me, the candy-barlike consistency contrasts well with the cake.

Instructions

  1. Bring butter, cocoa and buttermilk to boil
  2. Take off heat and mix in powdered sugar and vanilla.
