Bibimbap is a super-popular Korean dish made up of a bowl of rice, sautéed and seasoned vegetables, hot pepper paste and usually a bit of seasoned beef, or in our case, pork, and an egg. “Bibim” translates as “mixed” and bap translates as “cooked rice”. so “bibimbap” literally means “mixed rice”. Before eating it, you’re supposed to mix everything together.

Known as Korea’s national dish, bibimbap is very colorful, refreshing and varies from region to region. It looks like a kaleidoscope of various vegetables neatly arranged on top of rice, and is often accompanied by an egg in the middle. All of the different ingredients that we chose aren’t random, they’re chosen because they offer a variety in flavors and textures. All you need to do is to cook the different ingredients separately in a pan then combine them into a bowl at the end. This is the perfect dish to serve this summer at your weekday dinner party or weekend family gathering.
