According to researchers, a passion for snapping pics of yourself can reflect anything from body acceptance and personal empowerment to low self-esteem and vanity. The jury’s still out on whether “selfies” are good or bad — or somewhere in the middle. Regardless, protect your image online by taking positive-minded pics (just say no to the “tongue-out-middle-finger-flipped” pose) and making sure the photos are helping, not hurting, your self-esteem.
