In our weekly Q&A installment, we asked The Greatist Team and readers if there’s any food they’re afraid to try. Here’s what they had to say:

I would venture to say there is nothing I am “afraid” to try— and I’ve already tried some pretty crazy stuff (bull penis, anyone?). The only thing I may be a bit squeamish about is anything that is still alive or moving (like this octopus), or any type of bug. Those would require some pretty intense convincing and/or bribes! — Kate Morin

The turd burger. It’s artificial beef synthesized from the proteins extracted from human waste. Enough said.— Calvin Men

Lobster — I’ve never touched it in my life. When I was really young, I found it pretty gross that people would come together to rip apart and devour what I was sure was straight up alien. I’m sure it tastes good, but decades later, I still think it’s a crazy practice. But I admit, I loved watching them hang out in the fish tanks. — Justin White

I am really embarrassed to say I’m terrified to eat a beef burger. I went (mostly) vegetarian almost 15 years ago, and even though I’ve started eating more red meat, I still just can’t make myself eat a burger. They’re just so intimidating. — Kelly Fitzpatrick

Guinea pig. While it may be a delectable dinner-item in Peru, I grew up with a pet guinea pig (RIP MAGGIE I MISS YOU) and could never fathom eating one.— Laura Schwecherl

To be honest, there are many foods I’m hesitant to sample. The first that comes to mind is eel. Is it possible to eat an eel avocado roll without worrying that this slimy, slippery fish will suddenly return to life and start squirming around the insides of your mouth? Alas, perhaps I’m just not sophisticated enough. — Shana Lebowitz
