I was always the "I'll run if I'm being chased" kind of girl, but I decided to run a 5k back in 2007 and have been hooked ever since! My knees get angry if all I do is run, though, so I throw in yoga for cross training.Favorite way to de-stress: I love to head to my favorite brewery in town with some friends! If I'm in the stick around the house kind of de-stressing mode, I'll usually grab a book and some wine.Why I’m a greatist: Six years ago, I lived a sedentary life, full of unhealthy choices. I was obese and extremely unhappy. Once I started my weight loss journey, it completely turned my life around. It became not just about the weight loss, but about becoming a better ME. Today, I'm a greatist. While I strive to live the best kind of life, I know I'm not perfect. I've got a long ways to go in my journey, and some days are better than others, but each day, I try to make the healthier choice that I know is better for me in the long run. Like any normal person, I have off days where the priorities get pushed aside, but it's about recognizing that, moving on, and getting back to healthy habits. Nobody ever said a healthy lifestyle was easy, but it is completely worth it. In the six years since this journey began, I have found a happiness and a self-confidence that I never used to have.
