This listing (which has since been removed) for a pair of plus-size shorts from Wish has the Internet up in arms. As commenters have pointed out, the photo of a thin model wearing one leg of the shorts as a skirt is not only offensive, it’s also not helpful to people who actually want to buy them.

Many people have called out Wish for its outrageous ad, but British fashion designer Christina Ashman’s reply is our favorite:

Ashman posted this photo next to the original listing on her Facebook page with the caption: “I don’t have any formal qualifications in marketing, but if plus-size ladies buy shorts based on how one leg looks on a whole petite woman, then maybe smaller ladies will buy skirts based on how the whole thing looks on one pretty thunderous thigh.”

Her in-your-face response to this upsetting ad made us laugh, but it’s also an important reminder that we still have some serious work to do as a society.
