Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is an inflammatory condition that causes painful boil-like lumps to form underneath the skin. HS often affects areas of high friction or skin-on-skin contact, such as the inner thighs, groin, underarms, and breasts. Sometimes the lumps burst, creating more discomfort. And tunnels under the skin may connect the lumps, causing more swelling.

If left untreated, HS can lead to complications like localized infections, blocked lymph node drainage, impaired movement, and even a form of skin cancer. The disease can also heavily impact quality of life.

We’ve put together this pop quiz to test your knowledge about the condition. Give it a go and arm yourself with HS info.
