Next time you think you’re too busy to work out, take a page out of Brad Feld’s book and get moving anyway. This active entrepreneur and venture capitalist makes time for marathon training, even while he plays an integral part in launching new software and Internet companies. Feld is the managing director of TechStars, a startup accelerator program that sponsors about 50 fledgling companies each year. Through TechStars, young companies receive funding, mentorship, and access to investors and venture capitalists. Feld’s other projects include running venture capital firm Foundry Group, working with tech non-profits, and writing about start-ups and investing for various blogs (including his own, Feld Thoughts).

And where exactly does fitness come in? Feld is a devoted runner, with an impressive goal of running a marathon in each of the 50 states. So far he’s crossed 24 finish lines, including one ultramarathon, with a PR of 4:05:27. Next up on the list: The Little Rock Marathon in Arkansas. Read on to see how he stays fit, fueled, and inspired through long training runs and equally lengthy workdays.
