Sealy mattresses sport a few features that might persuade you to their side.
For one, Sealy has been using “Posturepedic technology” since 1950. They call it “reinforced support where you need it most.” This means the middle section of Sealy mattresses is more supportive. (Middle as in the part by your butt, so it helps even if you sleep with a partner.)
Another feature that might draw you to Sealy is its Response line of mattresses. If you prefer the old school feel of an innerspring mattress over memory foam or a hybrid of foam and coils, Response is your best option.
Both Serta and Sealy have the same range of firmness ratings from ultra/extra firm to ultra plush (aka soft), with the highest number of mattresses in the firm and plush categories.
If you like medium firmness or prefer something at the “ultra” end of the spectrum, Serta has more options, including mattresses with a pillow top to further customize your sleep experience.
With their 120-day trial (versus 100 days with Sealy), Serta gives you just a little longer to return a new mattress if it’s not a good match for your sleep style.
Another plus from Serta: all of their mattresses can be purchased online directly through the Serta website. Sealy, however, has several mattresses that can only be purchased in their store.
