Don't be afraid to knock back a cold one this summer. Studies suggest one to two alcoholic drinks a day— including beer— can reduce the risk of heart disease.
Welcome to the Greatist Holiday Season!
This month, we’ll be dishing out some killer holiday-season stories to help you reach those goals. In fact, we’ve already started! Here’s a little taste of what we have in store:
Every Wednesday, catch up with writer (and recent first-time marathoner) Emily Faherty, who’s participating in Runner’s World’s Holiday Running Streak. She’ll blog once a week about her experience running at least one mile per day from Thanksgiving to New Year’s.
And to get us all in the giving spirit, check back next week for a list of our favorite fitness, health, and happiness-related charities. Sneak peak: the roundup includes organizations big and small, from Philanthroper, to Heiffer International, to Charity Water. Plus, we’ll unveil a social giving campaign on our Facebook page, so stay tuned for more on that!
We’ll also tackle holiday stress issues (yikes!) to help you cope with the most common nail-biting moments of the season— from holiday parties and travel, to finding the perfect gift for everyone on that (three-mile-long) list. Stay tuned for these installments in our Avoiding Holiday Stress series!
Have any ideas for additional holiday or seasonal content, or any related questions you want answered by our very own Dear Greatist columnist, Kelly Fitzpatrick? Send ‘em our way— we’d love to hear from you!
