Lifting heavy is the goal; bring on squats and deadlifts! Favorite way to de-stress: I love listening to stand-up comedy if I'm really stressed out. Whether it's a special streaming on Netflix, a comedy channel on Pandora, or Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast, laughter really is the best medicine. Why I’m a greatist: I am a greatist because health and fitness has become an integral part of my life. I am currently production coordinator for a documentary where I've had the opportunity to interview some of the top trainers and fitness writers in the country, as well as learn some crazy cool information about health, nutrition, fitness and weight loss, which I often shed light on in my blog posts or on twitter. Working on this film inspired me to make fitness a bigger part of my life. Even though I studied acting in school and still aspire to have an acting career here in Los Angeles, I am also studying to be a personal trainer with the goal of making my services available to those who wouldn’t normally be able to enlist a trainer due to cost restrictions. I am truly passionate about inspiring healthy food and fitness choices in other people, particularly young women who may be faced with an eating disorder. Dealing with an ED has been a daily struggle for the past several years and only now am I able to tackle it head on, and focus my energies on maintaining a desirable level of health while still being an ""acceptable"" body type for the entertainment industry. I am happy to report I am currently 36 days into my recovery, and counting! On my blog, I’ve made a lot of connections all over the country with all sorts of people at all different levels of fitness. Many read to get healthy recipes that I’ve create, while other use it as a resource for workouts, and others still use it as inspiration to overcome eating disorders or battle weight loss. I like that I don’t cater to one type of reader; everyone needs encouragement and positivity on a daily basis, whether they openly admit it or not. I am so excited to be a greatist and share the knowledge I've gained, make new connections, and learn even more!
