Favorite splurge food: Ice CreamGo-to fitness routine: In nice weather, my go–to is always running. I simply love it! There are few activities as challenging and refreshing as a good run. I would not say I am a natural runner; I have to work really hard for every mile and every second of improvement. Overcoming those challenges and enjoying the freedom I feel out on the trail are what keep me lacing up again and again.On rainy days or days I have less time, I am a huge fan of HIIT workouts. These get me moving, breathing hard and building strength – and it really helps my running.Favorite way to de-stress: It depends on the stress level. Some days I just want to pound out a hard and fast run to clear my mind. Other days, I pick up my current book, make some tea and enjoy some quiet "me" time. No matter how busy I am, I try to always keep just a little time in my day to breath, relax and refocus.Why I'm a greatist: I'm a greatist because I'm committed. I've been on my own weight loss journey, plateaus and gains included. I've worked through injuries, I've learned how to eat well – mostly! – and I've taken responsibility for my health.I also know how important it is to have supporters. I read stories from so many inspiring bloggers and the encouragement on Twitter is incredible. This seems to be a key themes in the health and fitness online communities: pass it on. I love the joy, the celebration of success and the encouragement.For me, the greatist community is about helping each of us grow into the best we can be, and I'm so honored to be a part of it.
