About
On the bench of a sixth grade basketball team sat an overweight 11-year-old wondering how long it would be until he could get home and have some lunch.
I was that sad fat kid. Unlike my talented brother who played on three varsity teams, I was not into most competitive sports. Physical activity seemed mundane and unfamiliar, and I hadn't found exercise that was fun for me. I later discovered dance, yoga, and drum corp, which led to great friendships and a healthier outlook on life. Exercise was no longer work and actually a lot of fun. I am now in the best shape of my life as an active student at the University of Miami studying advertising and studio art.
My most troublesome weakness is... emptying the fridge, my plate, and other people's plates. My mom instilled an awful habit of finishing your food before you leave the table. I took this to an extreme.
I'm looking forward to learning more about... how to still eat delicious food while remaining healthy.
