Health and food—and how they're related—have always interested me. For the last year, I've been discovering more about this connection everyday, as I learn to live a gluten-free lifestyle to treat Celiac disease, a blessing in disguise that teaches me the healing powers of food everyday. I’ve been cooking since I could walk, and after spending years getting comfortable in the kitchen, my food basis was uprooted, and I'm enjoying re-rooting myself with new standards.

When I'm not in the kitchen, you're likely to find me writing or spending time with my family at home just south of Boston, MA. I've lived on the East coast my entire life, and being landlocked drives me crazy. I'm convinced that happiness is synonymous with being near the ocean.

My work has also appeared on washingtonlife.com, Delight Gluten-Free Magazine, and in various Syracuse University publications, including Syracuse University Magazine and Newhouse Network.

My most troublesome weakness is... Creamy peanut butter and Welch's grape jelly. I'll put them on anything together, even if it's just a spoon.

I'm looking forward to learning more about....How do the types of food I eat affect me emotionally and physically? Can food alter mood or attitude? What are the benefits/powers of eating whole foods?
