Sprite’s new ads aren’t #BrutallyRefreshing, they’re #BlatantSlutShaming. On JOE.ie, a website that calls itself “the voice of Irish men,” Sprite ran ads with one offensive catchphrase after another:

  • “She’s seen more ceilings… than Michelangelo”
  • “A 2 at 10 is a 10 at 2!”
  • “You’re not popular… You’re easy”

We get it Sprite, you think misogyny is funny. News flash: Your customers don’t.

Coca-Cola apologized for offending customers and claimed the campaign “was intended to provide an edgy but humorous take on a range of situations.” Really?! If anything, the ads are a #BrutalReminder that people actually think this way, which only emphasizes the progress we still need to make in treating women with respect.
