Thumb suckers and nail biters don't have to feel ashamed anymore. Those habits could prevent you from developing allergies, according to a new study. Researchers found people who sucked their thumbs and bit their nails as children had an increased exposure to some germs, which strengthened their immune system and reduced their chances of developing allergies as adults by a third. If only throwing tantrums was as beneficial.
