My smoothie recipe, great for post-workout or just an awesome breakfast.
I call it "The Motivator."
The name comes from the fact that sometimes the only reason I get up at 4:45 a.m. to workout is because I get to drink this smoothie afterward. It's that good.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 frozen banana
1 frozen kiwi
1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 cup 1% milk
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
Throw 'em all in the blender and let 'er rip for at least two minutes, so it gets good and airy and thick! Pro tip - peel bananas and kiwi before freezing.

I have 2 recipes:
Green Goddess:
3 Kale leaves, washed and destemmed
juice of 1 lime (it cuts the taste of kale)
1 frozen banana
water
mix, serve, and be healthy!
Green Lantern Power Smoothie
favorite protein powder (please stay away from artificial sweetners!)
2 handfuls of spinach
1 frozen banana
unsweetened almond milk to cover (trader joes has unsweetened vanilla - yum!)
optional: chia seeds, bee pollen, fiber powder, tsp vanilla
Great contest!
My recipe is as follows:
Mocha Goodness
1 frozen banana
1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I use Sunwarrior)
1/2 tablespoon cocoa powder
1/2 tablespoon instant coffee
1 tablespoon all natural peanut butter
1 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 large handfuls of spinach
Blend ingredients together and enjoy!
2 1/2 cups- fresh strawberries
1 ripe banana (with spots)
6 medjool dates
1/2 of the meat from 1 young coconut
fresh coconut water from a young coconut as needed
**1/2 teaspoon maca powder
Super Classic but the sweetness from the medjool dates take this to a whole new level.
**The maca powder is optional, I like to add it because its great for the endocrine system before or after long/intense workouts
Hey everyone, we've been getting great suggestions from Twitter and Facebook as well - check out the other recipes here:
From @ehellah: "not a smoothie but a good pick me up in the morning is a cup or so frozen almond milk cubes, cup of coffee, and cinnamon. So delish"

From @wishandwhimsy: "My recipe for my Neapolitan Green Protein Smoothie" - I’m thrilled to share a new smoothie recipe with you. I mixed things up this week, and while it was hard not adding peanut butter to my smoothie, I think I created another fabulous protein smoothie. Here’s the refreshing beauty: I’ve named this the Neapolitan Green Protein Smoothie because the ingredients reminded me of a neapolitan ice cream sandwich. Also, it is a green smoothie because I’ve added spinach. If you can’t get past the color of traditional Green Monster Smoothies, this may be a great introduction to adding greens. This does NOT turn out green. Instead it’s a pretty, light pink color.

Healthy Apple Pie Smoothie: Dessert Thickie
We all love our desserts but we don’t love what they do to our waistlines and health. Unless you make a healthy thick dessert smoothie – A Thickie! These are great for breakfast and they are so decadent that you can literally enjoy them at any time of day especially after a meal as a sweet treat. You can also freeze them and make them into ice lollies.
2 Cups Non Dairy Milk (oat, rice, soya, almond, hemp, coconut drink or raw nut or seed milk)
1 Banana
2 Apples
¼ Cup Pecans
½ Cup dates (or any other dried fruit)
1 Cup Oats (use raw oat groats if following a raw food diet or oatmeal if you don’t have a powerful blender)
1 teaspoon Cinammon
½ teaspoon Allspice/Mixed Spice
Blend the ingredients in the order listed.
Blend the ingredients a few at a time so that your blender can cope with the work, unless you’ve got a high powered blender, then you might be able to add them all in at once.
If it gets too thick, add more water as necessary.
If your blender has made the smoothie too warm, you can either cool it down in the fridge or freezer, or add some ice cubes or frozen fruit to it (You may need to add more water as this will thicken it further).

This is my Chocolate Orange Mocha-Berry Smoothie:
2 cups Mootopia 2% Chocolate Milk (if you don't live near an HEB grocery store you can use another chocolate milk, but theirs is my choice favorite as it's lower cal, lower sugar, higher protein than most)
1 medium banana
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 scoop Jay Robb Tropical Dreamsicle whey powder
1/2 cup chilled coffee
Blend! Makes a delicious, thick, high-protein smoothie of mocha chocolate, counter-balanced with a mild orange-banana flavor and hints of berry in a lovely dark purple color. Enjoy!
