Circuit training describes high intensity workouts that consist of several different exercises and little to no rest between movements.

The workouts tend to combine resistance work and cardio, which makes them great for building both strength and cardiovascular fitness. These workouts tend to rely on bodyweight movements to make it easier to rapidly change exercises, but they can also incorporate dumbbells, barbells, and gym exercise machines. A circuit training workout could include one minute each of squats, burpees, push-ups, and box squats, repeated for three “circuits,” with one minute rest between each circuit.
